  • Connection with other like-minded women

Cheryl will share with you the “TuTu Train” mission of learning to love life, live healthy, and embrace your strengths, as well as the philosophies of her company, Rejuvitrition. Cheryl is a Nutritional Therapist and Restorative Wellness Practitioner and has a culinary degree from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

This 150 mile, 4 day, 3 night trip on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) takes place during the cool days of autumn.  You will pedal over 12 bridges, pass through two tunnels, and cross the Eastern Continental Divide and Mason-Dixon line.

So if you don’t like the road you’re on, please hop on a bike and join us on the “TuTu Train”. Your first step is to answer the following questions:

  • Are you an average cyclist wanting more? (sorry no e-bikes)
  • Are you female between the age of 40-75?
  • Would you like to embrace your age with enthusiasm?
  • Do you desire to focus on whole body health?
  • Would you like to laugh more and let go of sweating the small stuff?

To make this trip a reality, Cheryl has teamed with Greg Stocksdale. When Cheryl and Greg met, they knew instantly they were the perfect match to create this remarkable life-changing ride. Greg owns and operates 2 Wheel Escapes a full-service concierge bike touring company with many years of experience on the GAP.

A portion of the proceeds goes to the GAP Conservancy.

COST: $1,500, everything included, double occupancy.

Below is the basic outline of our journey and what to expect. Breakfast and gourmet dinner are included each day, along with delicious, healthy snacks and drinks each riding day. There are many lunch options on the trail each day as you encounter wonderful towns from another era.

Itinerary

  • DAY 1: 35 Miles: Point State Park Pittsburgh to West Newton PA
    • On Day-1 we meet and park in Cumberland MD (free, safe parking) at 8:30am and shuttle to Point State Park in Pittsburgh (2.5 hours). Here we gather, fill water bottles, get some delicious, healthy snacks, and begin our guided journey consisting of the first 2 miles out of the “Downtown” area.
    • Enjoy the incredible industrial history and sights of this region as you travel from the middle of a major city to the quaint town of West Newton.
    • Happy Hour and hors d’oeuvres await you, then a delicious gourmet dinner right along the river.
    • We then shuttle 7 miles to a beautiful hotel nearby.
  • DAY 2: 41 Miles: West Newton to Ohiopyle PA
    • We begin with breakfast at the hotel, then shuttle back to West Newton to gear up for the day’s adventure.
    • This day, you ride through small “Patch Towns” that were the epicenter of the coal and coke industries in the late 19th century. Then view the most spectacular nature on the Trail through Ohiopyle State Park.
    • Day 2 ends in the 1800’s resort town of Ohiopyle PA, now a whitewater rafting mecca. We shuttle from there to a small “Lodge” style hotel where we enjoy another night of Happy Hour, hors d’oeuvres, and a delicious gourmet dinner. We will relax with a roaring campfire and socializing before turning in for the evening.
  • DAY 3: 41 Miles: Ohiopyle PA to Meyersdale PA
    • We begin again with sunrise, gourmet coffee and breakfast. Grab some snacks and begin riding through even more gorgeous scenery, and then begin seeing the epic railroad structures that allowed the trains to pass through the Allegheny Mountains.
    • Our stop for the day is Meyersdale PA, a classic railroad town made popular by the timber and maple syrup industry.
    • From here we shuttle to a historic Inn located on the original National Road, the main route West traveled by Native Americans, George Washington and early settlers. Here we will enjoy a dinner prepared especially for our group after a wonderful ride.
  • DAY 4: 32 Miles: Meyersdale to Cumberland MD
    • Day 4 is the best day, because the last 23 miles are DOWNHILL! This day also has all the most dramatic railroad features of the trail, including high bridges and three long tunnels.
    • We start the day with the usual amazing food, and then you are off on the easiest day of the trip. You will have a big smile on your face after riding pretty much straight down the mountain all day!
    • The trip ends in Cumberland where you parked at the beginning of the journey. As always, ride at your pace and enjoy, but most riders finish on Day 4 by 2:00 pm.
    • Pat yourself on the back, you just conquered all 150 miles of the Great Allegheny Passage.
